Linkou Distriction, New Taipei City – To alleviate through-traffic congestion at the Linkou Interchange A southbound exit ramp of Freeway 1, the First Engineering Branch Office will conduct road resurfacing, lane reconfiguration, pavement marking adjustments and traffic signs installation.
The construction is scheduled from 10 pm on Thursday, January 15, to 6 am on Friday, January 16, 2026. After the work is completed and the ramp is reopened, motorists are advised to carefully follow the updated signs and pavement markings.
Details of the lane adjustments are as follows:
1. Through-Lane Modification: The original third lane, which previously served both through-traffic and left turns, will be converted into a "Through Only" lane.
2. Access to Guishan District: Drivers heading toward Guishan District via the third lane must now move to the inner first or second lanes, which will be designed as Left-Turn Only lanes in advance. Motorists who miss the turn should continue straight on Bade Road to the Wenhua 2nd Road intersection, then turn left and across via the overpass, and proceed toward Guishan.
3. Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Restrictions: The current restriction prohibiting large freight trucks in the inner two lanes will be relaxed. After the adjustment, only the innermost lane (Lane 1) will remain restricted for heavy goods vehicles.
Traffic Advisory
The First Engineering Branch Office urges motorists to follow the lanes guidance in sequence, maintain a safe following distance, and strictly avoid forceful merging or cutting in line to ensure traffic safety.
Please note that the operation may be canceled or postponed due to weather conditions or other unforeseen technical factors; any changes will be announced separately.
All drivers are urged to approach the Linkou interchange area with caution, and follow posted signs and comply with traffic controllers’ instructions to ensure safe travel.
