Traffic News:2 Phases Nightly Closure of Northbound Exit Ramp at Wugu Interchange

Wugu District, New Taipei City – The First Engineering Branch Office has announced 2 phases scheduled nightly closures of the northbound exit ramp at Wugu Interchange for ramp road resurfacing, pavement marking. The closures will be carried out in 2 phases: Phase 1: Northbound exit ramp heading toward Taishan District and Xinzhuang District: Monday, October 20 to Wednesday, October 22 Phase 2: Northbound exit ramp heading toward Bali District and Sindian District: Monday, October 27 to Thursday, October 30 Each closures will take place nightly from 11 pm to 6 am the following morning. Detour information: traffic control and detour map is attached Phase 1: Motorists traveling northbound on Freeway 1 heading toward Taishan and Xinzhuang should instead the left exit ramp toward Bali and Sindian Districts (Highway 64) as an alternate route. From Highway 64, drivers can exit from Wugu Interchange, proceed to the Section 2 of Xinwu Road at ground level road in Wugu District, and make a U-turn at the Section 3 of Zhongxing Road intersection, and continue toward Taishan and Xinzhuang.(see attached 1) Phase 2: Motorists traveling northbound on Freeway 1 heading toward Bali and Sindian area can alternate the right hand side exit ramp bound for Taishan and Xinzhuang District, to the ground level road then keep going and make U-turn at Zhonggang S. Rd., then go back straight to Section 3,Zhongxing Rd. and then turn right to Wugu 2nd Interchange of Provincial Highway 64 and bound for Bali and Sindian area.(see attached 2) Traffic Advisory: Motorists should expect delays and are strongly advised to use alternate routes. The night work is subject to change due to weather or construction related issues. The Construction Crew remind drivers to travel through the Wugu Interchange of Freeway 1 during these dates to complete trip before 11 pm to avoid delays. All drivers should excise caution when approaching the Wugu Interchange, and follow traffic signs and on-site personnel instructions to ensure safety.
