Wugu District, New Taipei City – The First Engineering Branch Office announced that all southbound ground-level lanes at 32K+900, as well as the southbound Wugu Intermediate Transfer off-ramp of the Xizhi–Yangmei Elevated Viaduct on Freeway No. 1, will be fully closed to facilitate the installation of widening steel girders for the overpass bridge at the Wugu Interchange section.
The closure is scheduled for Wednesday night, November 19, 2025, from 10 pm to 6 am the following morning. The temporary closure is necessary to ensure traffic safety during the construction work, the construction crew said.

Motorists traveling southbound, whether on the ground-level mainline or descending from the Xizhi–Wugu Elevated Viaduct via the Wugu Intermediate Connection, are advised to exit through the southbound off-ramp at Wugu Interchange, follow Xinwu Road along the local route, make a U-turn at the Ziqiang Road intersection, and then re-enter Freeway No. 1 via the southbound on-ramp at Wugu Interchange.
Traffic Advisory
During the nighttime full closure of the southbound ground-level lanes, the Xizhi–Yangmei Elevated Viaduct will remain open to traffic.
Motorists should expect delays and are strongly advised to use alternate routes. The construction schedule may be adjusted in case of adverse weather or on-site conditions.
Drivers planning to travel southbound through the Wugu section that night are advised to pass the area before 10 pm to avoid traffic disruptions. All motorists are urged to approach the Wugu Interchange with caution, follow traffic control personnel and signage, and pay attention to Changeable Message Signs (CMS) for the latest closure updates.
