The First Engineering Office plans a long term closure Southbound shoulder of Freeway 3 before Daxi interchange due to the New System Southbound Exit Ramp construction.
Daxi Distric in Taoyuan City – The southbound shoulder lane, located between south of the Puding Tunnel and Daxi Interchange on Freeway 3, will be closed Tuesday, Jun 11 through Thursday, October 31 to construct the new exit system ramp to connect the Highway 66.
The construction crew will soon begin the road structure connection work between a new exit system ramp and the outer auxiliary lane of main lane. Those works include driveway reconstruction, roadway base, drainage system, and ramp pavement etc. The new exit system ramp is one of ramps of the Construction Project of Connecting Freeway 3 to Expressway 66 System Interchange, and is going to merge the main lane of Freeway 3. Shoulder lane closures will be necessary.
The southbound shoulder lane will be closed to traffic between kilometer station 60.8 and 61.9 on Freeway 3, that’s about 1km, and the closure is scheduled from Tuesday, Jun 11, 2024 through Thursday October 31, 2024. This will be a long term closure. Drivers should prepare themselves for detours and delays with a stretch of Southbound Freeway 3 shutting down the shoulder lane, said the First Engineering Branch Office.
