Full closure all southbound traffic lanes at Wugu Interchange of Freeway 1

The First Engineering Branch Office said that it will schedule to close all southbound ground level lanes on Freeway 1 32k+900 at Wugu Interchange, and also close southbound Wugu Intermediate Transfer off-ramp of Xizhi-Yangmei elevated viaduct, for removing Freeway 1 southbound overpass bridge barriers at Wugu section.
Wugu District, in New Taipei City – The southbound ground lever traffic lanes at 32k+900, and southbound Wugu Intermediate Transfer off-ramp of Xizhi-Yangmei elevated viaduct of Freeway 1 will be closed on Tuesday through Thursday, Jun.17 to Jun. 19, 2025, 11 pm to 6 am overnight each night, for the freeway southbound overpass bridge barriers removing in Wugu section. The closure will be done to work on the traffic safety, said the construction crew.

1. We suggest southbound motorists on freeway 1 approaching to the Wugu Interchange section please keep on the outer traffic lane and exit the off-ramp to the local route and right turn to the Xinwu Rd. and make U-turn at Ziqiang Rd. intersection, then stretch to the freeway 1 on-ramp intersection again. The detour map is as the attached.
2. For motorists on the Xizhi-Yangmei elevated viaduct southbound heading to the ground level lanes of Freeway 1, please use the Wugu Wugu Intermediate transfer connection exit the off-ramp to tthe local route and right turn to the Xinwu Rd. and make U-turn at Ziqiang Rd. intersection, then stretch to the freeway 1 on-ramp intersection again. Despite the southbound ground level traffic full closure during those night works, the Xizhi-Yangmei elevated viaduct still remain open.
Motorists should expect delays and are strongly advised to use alternate routes. The night work is subject to change due to weather or construction related issues.
The Construction Crew remind drivers who is planning on going northbound through that closure section of Freeway 1 at that night. Best travel before 11 pm to avoid the traffic closure. All drivers must approach the Wugu Interchange area with care, and follow the instructions of the traffic sign or the traffic controller to ensure safe drive.
