Traffic News：Nightly Closure of All Northbound Lanes on Freeway 1 Between Linkou and Wugu Interchanges

Wugu District, New Taipei City – The First Engineering Branch Office announced that all northbound ground-level lanes on Freeway 1 between Linkou Interchange and Wugu Interchange, along with the northbound Taishan Intermediate Transfer off-ramp connecting to the Xizhi–Yangmei elevated viaduct, will be closed for traffic gantry installation in the Taishan section.
The closure is scheduled for Monday night, September 8, through Tuesday morning, September 9, 2025, from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.. The closure will be done to work on the traffic safety, said the construction crew.
Detour information-- A traffic control and detour map is attached.
1. We suggest vehicles from Linkou District to Wugu District should detour via local roads. For northbound vehicles on ground-level Freeway 1 should exit at Linkou Interchange B and use local road for detour as well.
2. The Xizhi-Yangmei elevated viaduct of Freeway 1 will remain open for through traffic, drivers may keep on that viaduct pass through the closure section for detour.
3. Drivers northbound from Taoyuan City to Taipei City are strongly advised to use Highway 66 (via Pingzhen System Interchange) or Freeway 2 (via Airport System Interchange) as alternate routes.
Traffic Advisory--
Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes. The night work schedule may be adjusted due to weather or construction conditions.
