Make good use of “Freeway 1968” App to grasp the real-time traffic conditions of national freeways

In order to facilitate the public to grasp the real-time traffic conditions of national freeways, the Freeway Bureau provides various of real-time traffic information services on “Freeway 1968” App, including "real-time traffic conditions", "real-time CCTVs", "alternative route", "travel time prediction", "road incident broadcasting", "road incident push notification service” and "1968 hotline service"...etc. People are welcome to download and share 1968 App for keeping track of the traffic conditions ahead. In order to provide more real-time, active and convenient traffic condition information, the Freeway Bureau provides various of real-time traffic information services. The main services are as follows:
1.Real-time traffic conditions: Integrate various traffic conditions information on a single platform with geographic information system (GIS) technology, including road section performance, real-time CCTVs, road incidents, alternative routes, service area information, weather information, etc.; you can also switch to 1KM section performance map to grasp more detail real-time traffic conditions.
2.Real-time CCTVs: You can view CCTVs and CMS information along the road, and add frequently used CCTV and CMS to “my favorites” for quick review.
3.Alternative route: In case of congestion ahead, you can check the travel time of the alternative route, evaluate whether to change the route or not. Moreover, the long-distance alternative route integrated with Google Maps can provide navigation service.
4.Travel time prediction: This service can provide estimated driving time while you set the route and departure time. Moreover, you can check the departure time in the next 100 days.
5.Road condition broadcasting: Users can turn on this function while driving on the national freeway, and they can listen to the real-time road conditions 3 kilometers ahead, including information such as traffic control, incidents, congestion, and weather.
6.Road incident push notification service: Users can subscribe road incident Location-Based push notification Service (LBS). While driving on the freeway, users can receive the automatic notification of road conditions ahead within a specific range, such as traffic control, accident, scattered objects, congestion, construction, service area parking spaces and weather, etc.
7.1968 hotline service: If you need to inquire about any national freeway information, or in case of accidents such as breakdowns, you can call the 24-hour 1968 hotline with the customer service staff to request assistance and related consulting services.
Using the “Freeway 1968” App to check the real-time traffic conditions and related control measures of the national freeway during consecutive holidays is strong recommended, and make a route plan before traveling as well. While traveling on the way, you may grasp the real-time traffic conditions through listening broadcast, paying attention to changeable message sign (CMS), asking other passengers to use App or dialing the 1968 hotline service. Then, you can flexibly adjust the driving route to avoid the congested sections of the national freeway.
