Paying more attention to driving at low temperature to protect you and me

Recently, the temperatures across Taiwan have dropped due to the cold air mass. Freeway Bureau reminds the public that low temperature can easily cause malfunctions in vehicle components. Drivers must pay more attention to the maintenance of the battery, oil level, tire pressure, and air conditioning before or while driving.
Freeway Bureau said if the vehicle is parked in a low temperature environment for a long time, the battery performance will be affected. The driver needs to pay attention when starting the vehicle, and pay attention to the temperature of liquid cooling system when traveling. In addition, low temperature and humidity may cause slippery roads. Before driving, be sure to check whether the tire pressure is normal and the tread depth is sufficient, so as to avoid slipping out of control due to insufficient grip. If drivers need to check the tire pressure and tire pattern, they can also inquire at the information counter at the service area along the national highway.
Freeway Bureau urges drivers to maintain their vehicles normally, to do vehicle inspections before driving at low temperatures, pay attention to traffic conditions at all times while driving and maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front to improve driving safety.
