Traffic News: Heads Up, Drivers! Permanent Closure of Freeway 1 Northbound Outermost Lane between 34k+700 and 34k+100.

Wugu District, New Taipei City – The First Engineering Branch Office announces the completion of the first stage of the Freeway 1 Wugu Interchange Improvement Project. The newly widened northbound outer lanes between Linkou and Wugu Interchange will officially open on Friday, August 22, at 6 a.m.
As part of this improvement project, a 600-meter stretch of the northbound outermost lane on Freeway 1, between kilometer markers 34k+700 and 34k+100 at the Wugu Interchange, will be permanently closed for off-ramp lane adjustment work. This change is expected to ease congestion, reduce delays, and improve safety for thousands of daily commuters traveling through the Wugu District.
Crews also remind motorists traveling northbound on Freeway 1 toward Wugu and Taishan are advised to stay within the two outer lanes starting at kilometer marker 37k and continue driving in these lanes. In addition, vehicles descending from the Xizhi–Yangmei Elevated Road via the Wugu Intermediate Transfer off-ramp should merge to the right at ground level and use either the Freeway Bureau ramp or the newly constructed northbound exit ramp to reach their destinations (see attached diagram)
